Everything changed for me this day. 
Witnessing the children line up for a bag of rice and a bottle of water, I felt a raging fire inside me. This is a weekly ritual that thousands of families count on for sustenance. What?!
I was livid. I know we can do better on this planet!
I took this picture while in Nigeria, Africa in 2006. It was one of many moments where I recognized that my mission needed to transcend my fears and insecurities so that I could be the fully expressed instrument of change I am meant to be.
When I got back to America, my world turned upside down. Part of me wanted to curl up and pretend I didn’t see or feel what I did there.
Part of me wanted to become a bitter, resentful person.
Part me wanted to place blame.
But what I chose was this: To use the fierce fire to ignite a movement.
It began with taking the leap to start my business. I knew that the fastest route to impacting more lives was entrepreneurship.
The first years, I scrapped by. At times I wanted to give up. At times I doubted I had what it took.
But the impressions of those children were still with me. They called to me to rise above my self-centered concerns of failure and judgment.
Today I run a thriving company and am graced with a dream lifestyle doing what I love.
All along- through my dark nights as well as my triumphant milestones– I knew it was for something greater.
It’s not about making more money. It’s not about showing off how good my life is. It’s not about proving to others (and my ego) that I’ve “arrived” in what society has deemed success to be.
It’s about making a bigger contribution. Authentically. Freely. Unencumbered by rules and dogma.
I appeal to you to join me. Join me in arousing the fire that lives in your spirit. For more life. For higher standards. For freedom and prosperity for all.
Use your anger, your disdain, your fear, your discouragement – not as a reason to prove how evil still exits on the world or an excuse to shut down – but as an indication that you deeply care about your fellow humanity and the well being of our earth.

I see, feel and know a world of prosperity and well-being for all. Who I am is a presence that contributes to the greater good. There is enough for all. The Universe truly is on our side for a life-affirming way of being that brings out the abundant best in all.
